MY Lexical logic

I explored a collection of 100 images sourced from physical lexicons in my college library, including dictionaries, encyclopedias, and various reference books. The process of finding these images was both exciting and challenging, as I was instinctively drawn to imagery that reflected my emotional state at the time—feelings of sadness, fear, and uncertainty. This personal connection influenced my selection, resulting in a composition that feels introspective and somewhat haunting.In creating this collage, I incorporated risograph effects to add a textured, layered quality to the piece, enhancing its raw, emotional feel. The risograph-like textures add an element of nostalgia and tactility, contrasting with the digital elements and reinforcing the hybrid nature of the work. I emphasized design principles like scale, hierarchy, and figure/ground relationships to guide the viewer’s eye and evoke a sense of movement and rhythm. By playing with contrast, I highlighted the disparity between emotions, with some images enlarged to create a dominant presence, while others were minimized or layered in the background, enhancing depth and complexity.This hybrid digital-physical collage reflects a fragmented yet interconnected narrative, using visuals that resonate with my personal emotional landscape. By layering, manipulating, and arranging these collected pieces, I aimed to create a balanced yet dynamic composition that invites viewers to explore its details and reflect on the contrast between individual and collective imagery.
